Decorex & Focus/15
2nd of November 2015 By
Decorex - September 2015, Syon Park London:
This year, the Decorex exhibition felt particularly main stream and leant heavily towards fabrics. However, one of the stands that really grabbed our interest was BeatWoven who are pioneers in pattern exploration by playing music which is then woven into fabric. They are designed in their London studios and produced in one of the last remaining English Silk Weaving Mills using exclusively sourced materials and the highest quality of craftsmanship. A truly innovative creation.
We were also impressed by the work of Architectural Bronze Casements. They were promoting the latest in slim line bronze doors and screens for internal and external use; all of which were produced with absolutely stunning craftsmanship. We look forward to speaking to both companies in more detail in due course.
Focus/15, Design Centre, Chelsea Harbour:
Another hectic programme at the Design Centre in Chelsea Harbour this year. From breath taking installations to impressive product launches, the event was a busy, interactive hub of original collections, creative encounters and new artwork exclusive to the event. It was refreshing to hear different perspectives from within the industry and we have been able to take away a lot from the many workshops attended over the course of the week.
It's always great to have a glass of bubbly and meet a lot of friends in the industry. Big thanks to Jason D’Souza for inviting us - the food and drink were great, we could move around freely and it was a great place aesthetically but, and this is a huge but, the acoustics were awful to be honest! With this in mind, I have been in contact to offer my services to resolve this issue for next year mainly as acoustics and cinemas are a big part of our business. Look forward to hearing from the organisers in due course!
